Kitties are Here!

Mom's down in the foster kitty room. Earlier Marva was acting like she was ready to nest and mom kept checking on her but she was just laying around in the foster room so she thought she must be wrong. She went to bed and then about an hour ago Speedy started running up and down the stairs meowing like he was crazy and mom got up and went down there and Marva was having her kittens. She's had two so far and is doing a really good job cleaning them and (this is gross so if you don't want to know skip the part in yellow) eating the placentas. Mom thinks this isn't the first litter she's ever had and that's sad. We know there's at least one more coming because she's still standing up and turning her head back toward the birth canal. The first one was kinda white and spotty and the second looked like a tabby! We can't wait to see the next. Mom's done this before but she always gets so excited. Dad even got up and came to see, and he hasta be up for work in about 3 hours. Oh, and mom's partner in foster, Olivers mom, trapped the male we think is the dad and he had tags but still had his hoo-has so she contacted the owner and gave them information about low cost nooter and they said they were going to do it. don't worry, mom and Germaine will make sure they do. Well, gotta go back to birthing the babies::giggle::~Sadie

pee ess: mom will try to get some pikshers when Marva is done having the babies and they are a little cleaner!

As promised - kitten picture!

I probably won't get any better as mom got mad at me after only two pictures! As you can see there at the top is a little tabby, next is one that looks all white but has yellow/orange rings around it's tail and the little one on the bottom has calico markings along with the ringed tail! I sat with momma for a couple hours and she's wonderful. It's rather dim in the foster room and I had to use the flash to get pictures. After the first flash she covered the kittens with her body. Every time I moved, she covered the kittens! Very protective. Sorry to disappoint any of you looking for kittens but we have 9 homes lined up for 3 kittens! This is a first for me and I'm thinking all our work on people to get their pets fixed is starting to work. As Martha says, It's a good thing.
