Silly Woofies...

Dis morning, in da snow, mom hadda go outside and take Butkis da woofie back to hiz howse. We useta haf a 6 pound dog named Theadore E. Bear dat liffed here but he went to da bridge like 8 years ago. He and Butkis (who is a big woofie lab dog) were bestest frends. Every cuppul a months Butkis comes looking fur Teddy. Butkis is like 16 years old now, furry grey and mom thinks he'z getting senile. He comes here, stands outside da back door and waits fur Teddy to come out. Den he furgets which way iz home and walks around looking konfoozed in our backyard. Mom feels sorry fur him and walks him back home, we'z surprized dat he even amembers Teddy and mom. Dis morning Butkis mom tolded our mom dat it mite be getting to be "time". Mom tolded us dat Butkis is now going deaf, he only haz limited vizshun in one eye and, yes, da vet sez he iz starting to looz hiz short term memory. He'z had arthur-itis in hiz hips fur years now and sumtimes he can hardly walk. Dis is sad, Butkis and I are frends, he's been here since I camed to live here and he usta gif me bafs when we wuz all in our backyard playing. He'z a reely nice woofie and I'll miss him, but if he iz in pain and suffering I gess dat going to da bridj won't be such a bad thing fur him. Tonite mom haz arranged fur me to go say goodbye to him, I bet he'll give me a bath...~Zippy
