Weerd stuff dat is going on...

We haf been freeked out dis week...okay, we unnerstand holidaze and dad being off work but he has been here ALL WEEK LONG! Oh, and he's not smoking dem stinky cigarettes anymore either, we thawt dat maybe he was haffing dem outside like mom would always tell him to but he hasn't been going outside at all. So, our routine is screwed up. We wake mom up at weerd hours cuz dad isn't getting up at 4:30 which means dat we don't know when it is 5 am cuz he's not getting out of da shower. The past two mornings we waited til da sun started coming out afore we woke her up! Oh, and usually mom feeds us, does Zippy's paw stretches den gets her coffee and brushes Sadie and den has a bowl of cereal. After dat she would vacuum and straighten up and our day would be good. Now she gets to da part where she brushes Sadie and den she makes breakfast fur dad. It kinda throws our whole day into a tizzy. Like, if she makes bacon and we get to haf some do we still get our temptations afore lunch? And if dad is sitting in da pooter chair where is Zippy suppose to sleep in da morning? We are working on new routines. Good thing mom still does the big three in the morning, even if it is kinda late. Mom's not as nuts wif dad home as she thawt she would be, even with him giving up smoking...and he is a little bit cranky but mom has lots of tricks from when she quit 3 years ago. And dad finally noticed what mom has been saying fur years, our house smells bad. When he goes to da store wif mom and dey come home he sez he can really smell da old smoke! Duh dad, why do you think mom was constantly washing walls and rugs and da furniture covers. Now dat dad is quiting mom sez dey is gonna do a MAJOR cleaning and painting dis spring and den she won't haf a stinky house no more. Well, except fur da cat poo...hehehehe

Oh my - new routines! You'll find ways - but now that your dad is home you need to train him properly soon! Don't let BAD routines settle in with him! If he takes the chair in the morning he needs to provide a warm lap for Zippy in exchange for example, right???
And come over and check out the super duper cabin we got on our Antarctica Cruise Ship!

Oh wow, now I'm getting scared! We may have some new routines coming up soon too! And Dad is trying to quit smoking too!

Do we live in a parallel universe?

you guys are so naughty and adorable~~

You guys obviously need lots and lots of treats to compensate for having your old routines disrupted. Point out to your dad that he needs to shape up - how dare he steal Speedy's sleeping spot and not provide him with an alternative. Again, you NEED more treats, plus snuggle spots (laps are good like Karl & Ruis said).

Look, I understand about people sitting on the computer chair because Pyewacket just took over MINE!

Snot fair. I had to go sleep on the green velvet chair instead and it's so not the same. I have the computer chair all shredded just the way I like it. :)

That's a lot of big changes in a short amount of time! It must be VERY confusing! Think of all the extra toys and treats you can get since you Dad won't have to buy cigarettes anymore!

I always have the same schedule, even when the human changes hers. Except last night I get up when she get up to take her medications and have a snack then so that I did not have to stay rest of night in cold house and could go back in warm bedroom with her. Did you know humans give off a lot of heat?

We just read on someone else's bloggie (can't remember who) that painting and cleaning are also great when trying to stop smoking because they give your hands and brain something else to do so you don't think about smoking as much. Good luck to your Dad!

Is this a new year's resolution - no more cigarettes? CEL

Vacations. It's a weird human thing. My mom is on vacation for four weeks until her new semester starts. The first week was tough because we were used to her getting up at 5am to feed us but now we have to wait until 7:30am. Mom told us we have to get used to it 'cause that's her new get up time.

And good for your dad to quit smoking. Mom says she smoked a long time ago but quit 'cause it got too expensive. Says it's the best thing she ever did.

Happy day that your mom still does the big three in the morning. It's so hard to have routine changes. I'm just happy that our routine is getting back to normal today.

And good for your dad on quiting smoking. Tell him to keep up the good work!!

New routines are never easy! Godo luck to your Dad on the stop smoking. Our Mommy quit a year and a half ago and it was not easy for her at all!! She was all grumpy for a while but that passed - mostly!

I'm am glad you are getting your new routine all figured out and hurray for your daddy and quitting smoking!
I have to say modeling is not easy, I make mommy work very hard for good shots. She gets mad at her flashy box too because she learned photography as school and her digital is just a "point and shoot" and won't so what she wants. ~Queen Snickers

New routines are always a bit tricky-you just have to retrain your Staff-with lots of positive reinforcement. You know, headbutts, purrs, leg rubs and biscuits. Hey, the quitting smoking thing is GREAT! That means your Dad won't make your fur smelly when he pets you anymore!

Poor babies -- new routines are the pits!

Our bean went on a trip for a few days after Christmas, and the boys and I were really thrown for a loop by all the comings and goings of the kid beans. Very disturbing. I, especially, hate it when our bean is gone. I really went into a funk.

Routines are good -- here's hoping you can get into a routine you really like VERY SOON!

We are going to keep close tabs on the quit smoking program. People smokes Outside, but we do not like it when she goes Out. If she quitted smoking she would only have to go Out to hunt, I mean work.

Keep him strong yous guys!
