Bad News

Update: 3:08 am. It's my fault! They said he gots bacteria (necrotizing faciitis) thru a skinned knee. He skinned his knee falling down in da driveway while trying not to step on me! Mommy says he furgived me right away and not to feel bad but I do. I won't feel better until my daddy is home and feeling better. Da good news is dat dey did not hafta chop off his leg. Da bad news is, dey hadda do a I & D (incision and debridement) to it. Dey cut all da way from his groin to mid-calf and cleaned out infekshun down to da muscle! Mom sez he's on a ventilator and heavily sedated 'cuz dey could not keep his blood pressure up even near "low normal". He haf two very nice nurses wif him (well, him and one other patient) because he is in da SICU, which stands fur Surgical Intensive Care Unit. Mom was kinda delited dat dey is two older men, one haf been a surgical nurse fur 30 years and the other haf been an RN fur 42 years! Dey is gonna go back in tomorrow and make sure da infekshun is all cleaned out. Nope, he's not stitched up or nothing. Dey is making mommy wear funny gowns and hats and put a mask on-dey did not haf to remind her to wash her hands tho, she's good about dat stuff. Keep all dem purrs and purrayers and healing light coming, dey seem to be working.

Just a real quick note, our daddy haf been sick for about a month. Today, he took a bad turn and mommy had to dial 911 (dat's a real merjency number) and dey camed and took our daddy away! Right now he is haffing emergency surjeree (it's 10:00 at night) and dey may hafta take his leg off! We hope yoo will all join us in purrs and purrayers fur him. And say one dat mommy does not lose her mind, she's suppose to be starting a new job on top of alla dis stuff. If yoo neffur heard us say it afore, our daddy is like a big baby and if mommy did not take care of him he woulda been dead a long time ago.
