Good news?

Well, daddy did it. He's coming home on Saturday...mom has to do dressing changes twice a day and give him the IV anti-biotiks two times a day for three days after he gets home. He will also need a walker, a shower chair, a raised potty seat wif rails and a grabby bar fur da bathtub...mom haf looked dat stuff up and hasta haf dad tell her which ones he wants den she can order dem. She went dis morning and had da nice lady watch her do dad's dressing (which is actually his bandages) and she signed da paper saying mom can do it. Tomorrow she goes fur a lesson on giving him da IV stuff, den Sunday a home health nurse hasta come and watch her do it to make sure she does it right, she might hafta come twice just to be sure. Mom sez she's purrty sure she can take care of daddy just as well as dey did der, maybe effun better, 'cuz he will be her only patient. She also sez she might even get more rest now 'cuz she won't hafta drive to da hopspittal and be der all day and haf da night. Da nice nurse dat signed off on her bandageing skills told her to take da rest of today off, but daddy was furry mad dat mom left and wasn't coming back...he even hung up on her. Den his other nurse told him dat mom needs to prepare fur him to come home BEFORE he goes home and when is she apposeta do dat when she's der alla time. He called mom back, but he still wasn't happy. He thinks his stuff is not in da way...he forgotted what a mess dis place was afore he left. He also thinks it should only take mom an hour or so to clean effurything up. Really, he's healing up in da leg and loseing his mind. She hasta move stuff around in da garage so she can put back da compressor and da medium toolbox he left in da hall, den she hasta flatten alla da empty boxes in da bedroom, kitchen and living room and put dem out der, den she hasta sort thru alla da boxes in da office and see if she can re-arrange stuff so der is not so many. She wishes she could just call fur a big dumpster and throw alla it out. After all dat she wants to vacuum all da carpets. An hour? Really dad, you've lost yoor marbles. But, crazy or not, we'll be happy to see him. We really did miss him.

We're glad your dad will be coming home soon. That's a lot for your mom to do and to learn in a short period of time. We hope she can do it all and still have time to rest.

Wow, your human has a lot of work cut out for her before your male human comes home! But I bet everyone is beyond excited! I know how much you all missed him (both of them, really, since she was at the hospital so much!).

I am so glad that your Daddy is coming home. I bet he is just grumpy because he isn't there yet. Tell your Mom to make sure that she makes some time for herself, too. I have been a caretaker and know how important it is.

We're very happy to read that your daddy will be coming home. The mom says men often don't understand what's involved with cleaning, house preparation, etc., because in their minds, the world revolves around them. LOL.

Anyway, we'll keep purring for your dad--and for your mom too, because she might need a break from the care-giving. We hope she has some options for that, maybe that someone can come in a for a few hours a week to give her a rest.

WE hope your Mom can get some rest. Having Daddy home will save her some drive time, but it can be stressful to be the full time caregiver!

We are glad he is well enough to come home!

We're so glad your dad will be home today! It sounds a little bit skerry to learn all that stuff, but I know your mom can do it. I hope she gets to have a little time to herself to rest, too.

Just heard that your Daddy is coming home today. He gonna get better real soon now, with all three of you purrrrrring and cuddling on him.

And Mom, if Daddy says the stuff is not in the way, leave it. Who knows, he may be right. If he isn't, he can sit and crush boxes to help.

ppuurrrrrrrrsss to you all.
