Where's mom?

A couple weeks ago the police were called to a house in Cedarburg Wisconsin because of a "stong smell". When they went there they found 121 cats! 97 survived and are at the Ozaukee Humane Society. Mom volunteers at the Wisconsin Humane Society in Milwaukee but they pool resources with Ozaukee to save more doggies and kitties. Mom was asked if she could help out, of course she said yes. For the last couple of weeks from 7 in the morning till in the afternoon she has been cleaning cages. All of these cats are sick and in isolation because they have illnesses that can be passed to each other and the other cats at the shelter. Mom showed up and said "what can I do" and because of all the infekshus diseases dey said "steralize cages" so dat is what mom has been doing, along with holding baby kitties while dey gets medi-sin put in der eyes or gunk skwirted down der throats. Funny thing is, mom was the one who said dat dey should be wearing cover-alls when dey did dis so dey din't aksidently pass anything on to other kitties and dad brawt dem 2 cases of dem weerd blue gloves dey all wear to handle dem cats. Effury day when mom comes home she washes her cover-alls and tells dad all about dem kitties. We was kinda jellus dat she was spending all dat time wif other kitties but after lissening to her talk about dem we is furry proud dat she is helping dem. Really, if you can yoo should volunteer at yoor local shelter. Dey can use all da help dey can get.
Oh, and we'z been visiting but not commenting a lot, cuz even tho mom is doing volunteer stuff she still hast at least let us visit. Dat's da least she can do...

Several years ago we had a crazy cat lady in our town who owned a house just fer her cats! Her husband wouldn't allow her to have cats at their house, so she bought a house an hour away, and put over a dozen cats there. Over da years, da numbers grew over 300! Da neighbors started to complain because of da noise and smell (and some kitties wuz dying) - da police and humane society had to intervene and take all da kitties away - some didn't make it cuz they wuz so sick. Da house was actually falling apart cuz of all da poop and stuff! Da lady gotted in BIG trouble wif da law!

Some beans is CRAZY!!! Do they think we can run a big house all by ourselves? Who will do da cleaning, feeding, spa days, etc.?

PFFFT!

Your Mommie is a wonderful lady! My Mommie also volunteers at a Kitty adoption agency, but she helps with PR and Event Planning. She needs to go more often though but she has excuses. Like that she works full time and also goes to University full time. Blah Blah Blah, humans always have excuses. Except your Mommie who is an exceptional human!

My Bean kept saying when she was younger that she was going to be one of those crazy cat ladies with 97 cats living in her house. Now she says she can only handle 1!

It's a sad state of a affairs when things come to this and it's largely because he human think they are helping out when in fact they are not.

I'm glad your mom is helping to take care of all the sick kitties. I hope they all get well soon.

You know, your Momma is an angel! My Momma cleaned kitty cages too, and she always took her clothes off at the door, so we wouldn't catch anything.

Be careful of the post above, I don't know what it means, maybe you should delete it.

Awwww, yay fur your Momma! We Ballicai think what she's doin it so wunnerful, helpin alla those poor kitties.

Yur Momma asked us Ballicai about housies in Tennessee havin basements -- well, some of 'em do, and some of 'em don't -- just depends, I guess. Momma and Daddy's housie has a basement but it's an older house and the basement is partly dirt. But they have seen new houses with full basements, too. So I guess it just boils down to what you want!

Give yur sweet Momma lots of snuggles -- she's superduper!

we proud of what your mommy doing! we hope there are more people like your mommy in our country here....it's too bad we seem lack of knowledge that there's no cat shelter in here; our mommie has a deep wish, build up a cat shelter & campaigning for people to raise their awareness how precious we are, we have rights too, just like humans! poor our mommie, she's facing difficulties to find anyone here that goes along & have the same vision with her....
