Formerly Feral Friday and a question
Wow, twice in one week! This is formerly feral me, waiting for mom to open the closet so I can get my little pink pig back. 
This is Little Pink Pig, he is a favorite toy of everycat when they first get here. We don't know why, he's just comforting. Speedy stuffed him under the closet door, mom says "aksidently" but I think he did it on purpose. LPP is almost 15 years old, he originally belonged to my frend Punkin and she gave him to me. He does not contain catnip and he smells like every cat that's here's drool (mom does wash him, but we drool on him so much). Now, the lady that made him said there is a piece of wood in him and mom can't remember what kind of wood, but it makes us all calm when we sniff and snuggle with him. Does anyone out there have any idea what it is that is inside Mr. Piggy that could have that effect on us. We want some more of this stuff as mom can give Mr. Piggy to one kitty and they will rub and chew and then pass it to the next cat. We all stand in a circle and wait our turn with him, no hissing, no fighting, no trying to grab it from another cat! Thank you~Princess Ziporah

We're just gonna guess here... but we likes the smell of cedar in cedar closets... it kind of goes to the top of your head, right between our pointy ears... mmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Wow, Little Pink Pig sounds like a wonderful toy! He is clearly much-loved by all of you. :) You look very sweet in that photo, Zippy. :)
We think Little Pink Pig is a great toy! We wonder what he is made of...
Hmmmm, I don't know about this. I've never heard of a wood that calms cats. If you find out, let us know!

I want a Little Pink Pig! I'm not sure what he has in him, but I would love a toy that made me feel that good.
What an amazing toy! He doesn't look very old at all. I'm curious what wood is inside of him.

I fink it is a piece of magic wood that only sweet kitties can smell and it only holds special powers over kitties and it passes from one kitty to da next....it is a furry special piggy.

Our friend Ramses posted today about 'nip and in his comments, honeysuckle wood is mentioned as having a 'nip-like effect on cats.

I have no idea what kind of wood it could be. But that toy is in amazing shape for being 15 years old. It must be very special for all of the cats not to play hard with it, and tear it apart!
It's Honeysuckle. We can buy Honeysuckle toys at our vets as well as catnip.
Just like catnip, some cats absolutely love it; others no so much.
Magoo loves honeysuckle woodchips.
That's it - Honeysuckle! Thank you Tipper and Magoo, Smudge, Bella and Dolce! Now mom is gonna go get a bushel and spread it all over da house. Okay, not really. But if Mr. Piggy ever looses his magic she knows what to get.

Man, LPP sounds like somebody I'd like to have..any chance the Lady who made him would make more? Couldn't begin to think what kind of wood would produce that effect, but it sounds great!
Little Pink Pig is a lovely legacy to have in your house. I would like a pig with magic wood inside. That sounds like a fairy tale come true.

Its a piece of honeysuckle tree! My lady servant read about this in her cats and kittens magazines, apparently a little branch will do the trick! I really wish I had some of this...

Catnip tree wood, no doubt about it. We have heard rumers of it from kitties who have "been around", if ya know what we mean. Ship kitties sometimes find it an trade it locally for land-food flavor cans of food to take with them on their travels.
