Mom's haffing kittens...

O.K., not reely mom. The naybor lady gots a cat from another naybor further down our block a'cuz they were moving and didn't want to take the cat. She told 'M', the naybor that took the cat, that she was spayed and hadded all her shots. Well, the kitty, Marva, was not spayed! I only thot that we cats cood get preggers in the spring or summer, you know, when the weather is good. Guess not 'cuz Marva got out of the howse and was gone for a couple days and everyone was looking fur her and den she got found in another naybors garaj. That was about 7 weeks ago, and now Marva is getting round and the vet confirmed it - kittens! M never had a gerl cat before and is scared of what will happen when Marva has the kittens so mom is taking over. The foster room is all set up for a pregnant queen. M is paying for everything like the food and the vet, she even sent over a nice blanket for mom to put in the birthing boks. So, we'll haf another kitty here and pretty soon we will haf, according to the vet, 3 more. I gess kitten season is coming early in this house. Oh, and as soon as is possible, Marva is getting fixed. ~Sadie

Wow, that's too bad that Marva wasn't spayed and that she's going to have kittens. I hope all the kittens find good Forever Homes!

Glad to hear that Marva will be fixed after having the kittens. I hope all goes well!

Yes, females can come into "heat" 3 times a year, but usually do only in the spring & fall (naure's way of preventing kittens born in winter). Our Mom knows lots about kittens 'cause she grew up with cats in the house, so we can help if you need us! Me 'specially since, technically I'm still a kitten until 1 year.

Love to Speedy,

that's awful that they lied to the lady about the spaying. unless they gotted her from a shelter that tolded them she was spayed and wasn't then shame on the shelter. Anyway, there's lots of kittens in the blogsphere that was borned in the winter, so I guess it's possible! we can't wait to see pikshurs when they arrive

Guess I would have taken the kittie to my vet to just make sure. Or asked for previous vet notes.

Good luck on the kittens. Keep us posted.

P.S. Vir-ginger says hi to your new Squillion, Oliver.

It's too bad that Marva is pregnant, but your human mom is doing a good deed by taking care of her. Let's hope everything goes well for Marva and the kittens. Oh, and we'd love to see some pictures of them.

Oops, they thot Marva was fixed but she was still broken! Mom an Dad took in a 10-year-old kitty afore Bonnie, an took her to the vet firstest fing to make sure efurryfing was up to date no matter what her ofur peeps said. They called her a "used" cat, or "previously owned". She looked a little like Sadie.
